Loyal followers of the pop star are urging that a man who breached a barricade and grabbed the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage depicts the Australian man pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though legal records showed that he was due to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile includes clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is clearly a legal violation," wrote an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user questioned.

Followers Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote one more message on Instagram.

A number of fans also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Many of fans had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.

The film, to be premiered on 21 November, is the second of a two-film version of the well-known stage show Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected friendship between two very different characters.

The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, earning several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
