Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Prosecutors report that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
