Brian Eno Encourages Support to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in the autumn. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The song blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a spokesperson commented. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
