Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
